Isle of Skye, Scotland, Occupied since the Middle Stone Age



Skye, often dubbed the Isle of Skye, is the largest internal Hebrdian Islands located off the west coast of Scotland. And the largest city on the island.

Occupied since the Middle Stone Age, there are currently about 9,200 people living on the island, although the population swells during the busy summer months due to the large number of tourists. Has a very popular with tourists due largely to its splendid natural scenery and easy access to those areas of the mainland, whether by car on the Skye Bridge or by ferry, bus or by train through major cities nearby.

Skye is a part of the local government area and is now connected with the mainland by a bridge. The island is famous for its beautiful scenery and vibrant culture, heritage and wildlife where you will find golden eagle and salmon.

Dunvegan Castle & Gardens, is the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland, and was the ancestral home of the heads of tribes like MacLeod for 800 years. The museum is open during the summer 7 days, which is open for visits in the outdoors all year round.

Flora & Fauna - animals in the Sky characterized by great diversity such as birds of prey, such as golden eagles. On the coast you will find eagles are rare. Magnificent red deer and a wide variety of small animals such as roe deer, red fox or weasel. As well as frogs, lizards and insects, dragonflies, butterflies, slugs and worms.
