An island has an abundance of wildlife, landscapes, wineries and beaches
Kangaroo Island is an island about 45 minutes away by ferry off the coast of South Australia. The area of the island is 145 kilometers from east to west, and has an abundance of wildlife, landscapes, wineries and beaches.
Has abundant wildlife and vast tracts of natural forests untouched by man over time. Many types that Australia is famous for can be found here, such as kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and penguins. There you will find plenty of opportunities to see these animals up close in their natural habitat.
Wildlife
You'll see wildlife on Kangaroo Island, whether you are in national parks or reserves, and only in the surrounding agricultural land for public roads. You will notice that most forms of wildlife are more active at dawn and dusk.
Koalas introduced to the island in 1920, also found a way to keep these species that are considered endangered when there are in their natural habitat. Much of the population boomed on the island, to the extent that they may cause environmental damage on the island. Used to be common in the Flinders Chase, a national park, but since the forest fires in 2007, was arrested and removed to the mainland, to allow for renewed. There is still much everywhere else on the island, but it is often difficult to see. You can see a group of them if you're lucky about Vivonne Bay and elsewhere. There is a free 20-minute walk away near the camp, or walking on the main road near the southern coast of Flinders.
Platypus. Another type you find on the island. You can see it in the viewing area, which is about an hour's walk from the center of Flinders Chase. The period of dawn or dusk are the best times, and must always be patient to see the platypus.
